Animaniacs had a lot of cool songs

If you watched animaniacs, you may remember an episode where Yakko sang the nations of the world:

Well, i vaguely remembered this, but then i came across this:

I don’t know if this is cool, or sad.  But nonetheless, it’s a catchy song.

Well this lead to some more digging, and well, i’ll just let you watch:

US Presidents

Universe Song

Ballad of Magellan

Why Pinky and the Brain was, and still is, so awesome.

Having the previous post list some of my favorite cartoons, I thought it would only be fair to dedicate a whole post on one of the best cartoons out there.

While searching for some old pinky and the brain episodes, I came across this interview with the voice actors of pinky and the brain, discussing how they came up with their voices, and the episode which won them an emmy (which i did not know about, but now that i do, it makes them that much better).

Cartoons nowadays suck, why, when i was young….

It’s true, cartoons nowadays suck.  I mean, don’t you all remember back in the days when Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd ruled the early golden era of afternoon cartoons.  Then came shows like Thundercats, and Transformers.  Then a few years later there were Animaniacs, Tiny Toons and so on.

Honestly, the last good cartoon i remember were ones from fox, like spider man, x-men and batman.  And i’m talking about the first edition ones, not the new spiderman and xmen cartoons, which by the way, suck ass in my opinion.

Well, in some twisted need in myself to relive my childhood, here are some of my favorite cartoons.

He-man: I don’t care what you think now, but back then, He-man was the shit.  I had the whole fucking mountain skeletor lived in and played with it for hours, but for some reason, i lost it over the years.  To this day, that is probably the toy i regret loosing the most.

Thundercats: I really don’t know why i liked this so much.  I just thought the sword and glove that Lion-O had was so badass.

Prostars: This one was an obscure one, but I really liked it when it first came out.  It was basically about a team of superstars, Micheal Jordon, Wayne Gretzky, and Bo Jackson, who went around saving kids from danger, using cool gadgets.  The one thing i remember the most was that Wayne Gretzky ate alot.

Ducktales: This was like the “Price is Right” of cartoons.  It’s what you watched when nothing else was on.

Animaniacs: Pinky and the Brain.  ’nuff said.

Will Ferrell at it again…this time, just mildly amusing

I love Will Ferrell, but I’ll be the first to admit, he’s only funny when he acts as, or is acting with a child. Case in point, Pearl.
Anyways, here he is at it again with another viral video, although not as cute and funny as his previous internet video, this one is still mildly entertaining.

Third Date with Will Ferrell

those japanese are at it again

Is there anything the japanese can’t do?

Japanese developers find way to create hot rice with cold water

Turn “COLD” water into “HOT” rice?! You’ve seriously gotta give them props for this, i mean, not only do they provide us with entertainment westernized media will not touch with a 10 foot pole, but now they’ve gone ahead and created something that could help people in emergencies? Bravo Japan, Bravo.

silly Americans, espionage is for communists

you know, I do understand that Americans have become quite alert, some might say paranoid, about other countries attacking, or planning on attacking american soil after 9/11, but somebody seriously dropped the ball here.

Canadian quarter
As a Canadian, you may remember a few years ago when quarters with a red poppy in the middle were being put into curculation. When I first saw them, i thought they were pretty cool, and definetly a nice gesture for the commemoration of Rememberence Day. Well, turns out our “buddies” from the south did not share the same sentiment.

An odd-looking Canadian coin with a bright red flower was the culprit behind a U.S. Defense Department false espionage warning earlier this year about mysterious coin-like objects with radio frequency transmitters

That’s right, the American Defense Department thought that us “Canadians” were putting out quarters with radio transmitters in them, in the hopes of what?! I mean, come on, we’re Canadians. It seems like our neighbors south of the border may be a bit more paranoid than we thought.

changes….that’s just the way it is

you may have noticed a change in the name of this site. After some deliberation as to what I want this site to be about, I’ve decided it should be just things I find in my quest to fill a void in me, created by boredom.

A friend of mine, we’ll call him “ed”, pointed out to me that my site is basically just a list of youtube videos.  I thought about it and realized, yes, yes it is just a bunch of videos, but it’s damn entertaining videos (to me anyways), so why not just go full steam ahead with filling this site with as much entertaining useless junk as i can.

I loved the Ninja Turtles, but not as much as this guy

I remember back in grade 3, always drawing them in class (Donatello all the way!), talking about them with my friends, even bugging my parents to buy their often crappy merchandise. But this guy….this guy’s taken it one giant step too far, and 10 years too late.

oh…your still here?

good god…it’s been a month since i’ve last made a post.

You know, you’d think that making posts on a blog is a really easy thing to do, but i’ve realized that i’m just a really really lazy person.  I mean, over the past month, there have been times where i’d find something interesting, or come up with an interesting idea to post about, but after that initial phase, the rest of it sinks in.

“hmm…now I actually have to sit down and write about it…hmmm, I wonder what’s on TV…ooo, rerun of simpsons, this was a good one.”

And so on.

Anyways, this is just to let anyone who’s actually reading this know, that I haven’t forgotten this site, and here’s to hoping I’ll have enough patience to post more useless things.
